National Stress Awareness Day (NSAD) – Stress: The Balancing Act

Today, Wednesday 5th November 2014 is officially National Stress Awareness Day.



We know that stress isn’t good for us, but with our busy lifestyles and mounting pressures that occur, it can be very hard to manage our stress levels. With advances in technology and our smartphones enabling us to be contactable 24/7, achieving that elusive work/life balance can be hard.  So, what can you do to help yourself?


In particular, start with looking at your work/life balance.  The ‘wheel of life’ is a useful tool to help you assess where you need to address imbalances in your life.

  • Adopting a healthy lifestyle
  • Make time to relax
  • Listen to your favourite music
  • Make time to meet family
  • Accept things you cannot change
