Don’t neglect your practice signage

  

Signage is a very powerful marketing tool which is often over-looked.  After the initial installation cost it provides 24/7 advertising of your dental practice for free! Signage lets people know where you are, who you are and what you do.

 1.      Do a drive-by and a walk-by

Carry out your own site survey and do both a drive-by and walk-by to assess the existing signage.  Is it visible from all approaches? Does it create the right impression of your practice? What information does it provide to a potential new patient? What about internally - do you have decent signage once inside the practice?

2.      Check any permissions

If you are considering installing any new signage make sure that the necessary planning permission is in place for what you have in mind.

3.      Visibility & legibility

Signage needs to be seen; ensure the dimensions are big enough (but not ridiculous), consider fonts that are easy to read and colours that stand out. Also consider having the sign illuminated when it gets dark.

4.      Simplicity

Don’t try to cram too much information on your signage; ensure there is enough space to allow the important key messages to stand out and ensure that it looks professional.

5.      Consistent brand message

“You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression” – make sure that signage does your practice justice.
